How To Make This The Year You Finally Play Full Out In Your Business

It’s 2019! Can you believe it? Don’t you hate when people say that? It’s kind of repetitive because most people say it every year.

“I can’t believe it’s a new year.”

We make big goals. We have big plans. We go to crowded gym classes and buy piles of dieting books. We vow to spend less time on our emails and to have more of a social life.  Everyone goes in with the same mindset:

This is going to be THE YEAR.

That enthusiasm and positive energy only tend to last for a few weeks before falling back into even older habits and then the cycle starts up again around December 29th of that year.

While I don’t have the key to making all of the positive changes you want to make stick, I can tell you exactly what you can do to make sure that 2019 is the year you finally build your business to the place you always dreamed it would be. I know this is a goal you’ve had and you’ve tried a lot of things before so what makes this year different? I’ll give you a few pieces of advice to make sure it actually is DIFFERENT.

Cultivate a strong mindset

The entrepreneurial journey can be long and the road bumpy. Very high highs (your first sales, getting your website up and running, replacing your full time income, booking out workshops etc) can be followed by very low lows (bad reviews, customers asking for refunds, NO customers!, realising that you might need to be the IT expert, marketing department, Chief Financial Officer as well as the admin assistant, receptionist and customer service “team”. That’s a LOT of hats for one person to wear).

Many of us suffer from Imposter Syndrome, where you feel like a fraud. We’re often perfectionists who set high standards for ourselves, which means it can be incredibly hard to actually put anything out into the big wide world! And we have repeating patterns of behaviour that can trip us up over and over unless we put something in place to stop you from doing that.

Be consistent

This is so much more than just posting every day on Instagram. It’s about systems that work for you, creating a plan that actually works and without overwhelming you so you can avoid that “all or nothing” energy, where you go at it hammer and tongs and then get burned out! It’s about resilience when things don’t go according to plan and self-care because boundaries are so important when we work for ourselves and the lines are blurred between work and home!

Make it easy for your customers

The internet is a busy place these days and we are busy people. Our customers want to know exactly what they are going to get and how much it will cost them. Being able to confidently set and state your prices is so important to build a relationship where the customer trusts that you know what you’re doing and they will get the service or product that they were hoping for. They want a smooth customer journey from first contact to purchase and beyond.

Ultimately, making this year YOUR year to have a profitable and sustainable business is about doing things in a way you never have before. You have to remember that you don’t succeed in making your goals a reality by doing things the same way you’ve always done them. Something MUST change.

It’s not enough to have the declaration. If it was, you would have figured this out YEARS ago. If you really want to have the freedom and flexibility that you wanted when you first set up your business, it’s time to make some changes.

While I  can’t personally come and work in your business for you, I’ve realised that when it comes to playing full and out being the best you can be, you have to start with asking for help.

I know how hard it is to actually have a sustainable business with a great work:life balance. That’s why it’s your goal for 2019, right? I’d love to invite you to work with me this year. I share a lot in these free posts and in my emails but there’s nothing like that 1-on-1 connection and in-depth work to really make a change.

So much of my work is about helping people develop the skills needed to really succeed as an entrepreneur, to be the CEO of your business and not just the worker bee and to have the flexibility and work:life balance that you wanted when you first started this thing! If you are really passionate about making this year the year you go in to 2020 knowing it’s DONE, let’s work together.
